Research theme

Department of Medical Radiation Science Ⅰ is engaged in radiation measurement in radiation diagnosis and radiotherapy and the theoretical and technical development of dosimetry and radiotherapy. For radiation measurement in radiation diagnosis and radiotherapy, we develop an absorbed dose measurement method based on the cobalt water absorbed dose to water calibration factor which can be used for all modalities. For the theoretical and technical development of dosimetry and radiotherapy, we investigate MR linear accelerators that integrate magnetic resonance imaging and radiation therapy devices, and develop phantoms for radiation measurement using a 3D printer. In our research, we aim to create new knowledge based on experience and theory by combining radiation simulation based on Monte Carlo method, in addition to measurement.
